The “No to Antisemitism” organization expresses deep concern and strongly and unequivocally condemns the violent attack on a Christian nun in East Jerusalem. According to reports, an individual with a religious appearance knocked the woman to the ground and, in an inhumane act, assaulted her while she lay defenseless. This behavior is not only a clear violation of human dignity, but also a direct attack on the fundamental principle of freedom of religion and peaceful coexistence among faiths. We emphasize that such acts bear no relation to the authentic values of Judaism. Judaism stresses respect for human beings, the sanctity of life, and the dignity of others. The misuse of religious symbols to justify violence poses a serious danger to all religious communities and must be firmly confronted. While expressing support for the victim of this attack, the “No to Antisemitism” organization calls on the relevant authorities in Israel to pursue this case with the utmost seriousness and bring the perpetrator or perpetrators to justice.
